Join us for a weekend of teaching, worship and rest. Guided by guest speaker Karen Soole, we will consider the book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible and ask the question – what really matters?
“The dream of liberation has been the backdrop of much history. Women today have unprecedented opportunities, yet most of us feel we don't reach our full potential.
Being Christian does not make us immune to terrible events. We have times of great joy alongside weeks of frustration. Life rushes on in regular patterns, and then we are blindsided by tragedy.
The teacher in Ecclesiastes is often misunderstood as deeply pessimistic, but he searches out the question - ‘what really matters?’. His observations and answers give us an essential perspective on life: a mindset we must recover in a culture that is shutting its ears to the gospel.
This weekend is a chance for us to listen afresh to the Bible’s unfading wisdom.”
Karen serves as the Women's Worker at Trinity Church Lancaster in the north of England. She is a Bible teacher, conference speaker and author of Liberated: How the Bible exalts & dignifies women and Unleash the Word. She chairs the Northern Women’s Convention and Equipped!; and is Women's Ministry Director for the Anglican Mission in England. You can follow her on Twitter @karensoole.
